Getting nail art designs does not need one to work too hard. There are various sources for free nail art designs, such as the various magazines dedicated to beauty and women. But then the best source for new designs is one’s own creative abilities. Most, nail artists prefer creating their own designs, rather than copy what already exists. Or then, they simply play with colors.

- Stripes : For this design one needs to first apply a base coat and then on top of that draw either vertical or horizontal stripes of various shades. Using glitter for the stripes makes it look all the more attractive.
- Flowers : For instance, one flower design that one can try is that of a bouquet of flowers. For this, one needs to apply a base coat of a lighter shade preferable. Then on top of this one requires acrylic paints to create the flowers. Once the flowers have been painted on the nails, the top coat has to be applied. To further adorn the flowers, one can put a dot of glitter in the center of each flower.
- Dalmatians : This is a simple design. One has to apply a base coat of white nail polish. On top of this black smudged spots have to be applied. Then a top coat needs to be applied over the design.
- Abstract designs : On top of a base coat, one can experiment with various shapes. After sketching these one needs to apply a top coat.
